Born out of a tradition in South and Central Europe, the dancing masked creatures, known as Kukeri, are intended to scare aware evil spirits. Celebrations and parades are held in Bulgaria and the Balkans, and consist of dramatic, elaborate costumes, dancing, and ringing bells.

Artist and designer Miroslav Dimitrov has a sleek and modern interpretation of those Kukeri, rendered in captivating 3D.  The color palette has been honed and refined, and the masks and furry costumes jump off of the black backgrounds. Fascinating work, via Behance:
