Paris is getting a bold new landmark with Fan d’Issy, a 30-story tower by Studio Libeskind that’s equal parts cutting-edge and organic.
Known for his dramatic, angular designs, Libeskind brings his signature sharp lines to this mid-rise—but what sets it apart is the lush vertical garden wrapping the façade.
The contrast is striking: jagged geometry meets cascading greenery, creating a living, breathing tower that evolves with the seasons. A titanium-enriched ceramic coating gives the whole building a shiny and futuristic feeling. A tree-topped roof helps to soften the angles.
More than just a visual statement, the plant-covered exterior helps cool the building, purifies the air, and boosts energy efficiency, proving that bold architecture and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Additionally, the building will be made up of 1/3 public housing, meaning people of all income levels will get to appreciate this cutting-edge design.
As cities push for smarter, greener design, Fan d’Issy shows us an imaginative and angular take on urban architecture, one that combines emotion and sustainability.

It’s a good question, we’ve wondered about trees on rooftops, imagining that the size of the trees top out due to limited soil.
It’s beautiful and a great idea but what happens when the trees grow and the roots destroy the structure?
