Berndnaut Smilde is a Dutch artist, creating thoroughly unexpected art in unexpected places. His clouds last for just a number of seconds before dissipating into nothingness. But the images he captures create a fascinating sense of place.
The concept of creating a floating cloud inside a building is simplistic, but the effect is powerful, and immediately disarms the viewer, making them reinterpret the physical space and feeling of the imagery.
National Geographic has a fascinating story on Smilde’s art, that inhabits a number of buildings around the world.
