We’ve all been there before. Crowded around a communal table, one of us gets stuck with the leg of said table, awkwardly straddling or scooching around it for comfort.
Spanish design firm Capitalism decided to create a cheeky twist on this inconvenience, creating a table absolutely brimming with legs. Now, everyone can share the discomfort.
The custom-made table is created with 34 legs of all different shapes, sizes, and materials, making the experience even more visually jarring and unwelcoming.
Aptly named The Uncomfortable, it is meant to be a conversation piece more than an actual product. We love the commitment to an egalitarian (bad) experience for all.
Now your grumpy neighbor shares the same awkwardness as your teenage son.
We also appreciate the absurdity of materials, some of the legs are recognizable, others are literal sticks or posts held up by books.
This tongue-in-cheek project doesn’t take itself seriously, making it even more delightful.
The table is on display at CUPRA City Garage, and currently not for sale.
