This super clever design called Accompany allows a baby crib to transform into a set of chairs. The transforming act makes a lot of sense, as baby cribs are usually used only for the first 2-3 years of a child’s life. Afterward, they mostly just take up space, and are stored in a basement or sold. Especially baby goods, which have a short shelf life.

Accompany allows for the crib to live a second life as a set of chairs, and handsome ones, at that. By doing so, your furniture doesn’t go to waste, and you’ll always have a crib on hand.

Using a unique rail mechanism, the chairs combine to create a small crib or bassinet.

Designed by Zhipeng Qiu and Yufeng Lin, Accompany is just a concept for now, but one we’d love to see brought to life.
