Wool is one of the world’s most amazing fibers. Renewable, biodegradable, and highly insulating, wool remains a favorite for fashion designers everywhere.

Designer Eileen Fisher has a new recycled cashmere sweater that embraces that renewable ethos, and it’s created entirely out of old, worn sweaters.

Part of their Renew take-back program, the sweaters are made from 80% recycled wool and 20% recycled cashmere. Using well-worn sweaters sent in from customers provides Eileen Fisher with all the stock it needs.

Using an Italian mill that has specialized equipment to clean, sort, and re-loom the wool so it can be remade into new garments.

We like how far the company has gone to reduce the waste and carbon footprint of creating quality clothing. Curious to know how many generations a sweater can be remade into new garments.

Available on the Eileen Fisher website for $348.
