This breathtaking sand sculpture, entitled Liberty Crumbling, is the impressive creation of Damon Langlois, capturing the poignant image of Lincoln in his monument, yet his head hangs heavily in his hands, evoking deep sorrow.

Below, the base of this masterpiece reveals profound cracks, as if it is poignantly on the verge of collapse, reflecting an unsettling reality that stirs the heart.

Expertly made, there is a lot of symbolism in the piece, which took four days to create.

The sculpture, unsurprisingly, won first place in the 23rd annual Texas SandFest, which is considered one of the biggest sand sculpture festivals in the world.

It showcases a powerful and troubling reminder of the fragility of our democracy, and helps to illustrate the current state of American society.
