Richard Clarkson has been working on cloud-shaped products for a while now, including a beautiful (and pricey) thundercloud that plays music and creates realistic thunderstorms. Now he’s created a magnetically levitating cloud that floats above a base, and reacts to the sounds around it with light. Similar to the Flyte and Lyfe products, Floating Cloud stays in place while levitating using rare earth magnets and a location sensor. It’s the kind of item that will look great in your home, and provoke a lot of conversation. It’s science + art + gadgetry that we love.
