Sometimes we forget what a brutal, survivalist world it was back in the age of dinosaurs. Enormous, predatory reptiles the size of school busses used to roam the land, giant claws able to rip trees apart. 

A new series of illustrations by  Julius Csotonyi showcase in beautiful detail some of the terrifying realities of the dinosaur age, including this giant shark Carcharocles. An pretty impressive view of Earth before we humans ever set foot upon the planet. Via Wired:
