German photographer Ben Gowertt has a way of transforming the ordinary into something ghostly and otherworldly. His series Ex Glory/Planetary Shining explores trees that have been shifted to look skeletal white, almost like through an x-ray machine. The result is harsh and almost disturbing looking, while retaining a visual draw. We get to see how similar the shapes of branches are to the shocking strikes of lightning during a thunderstorm.
