Arnaud Bathiard’s series titled “What? Eternity.” features rich yet austere black and white photographs of coastlines and piers, meant to evoke a sense of stillness and permanence in a busy world.  The purity of the shots also lend a dreamlike state to the images.

The beautifully smooth waters are thanks to his long exposures, and the deep blacks reinforce the theme of eternity throughout his collection. The images are taken from places ranging from Venice, to the Azores, to the Scottish highlands. Very satisfying photographs, rich, and powerful, via Behance:

A collection of memories torn from oblivion, frozen forever in their own eternity by the image.
