Playing With Your Food, Taken to the Next Level

As children, we’ve been there, pushing around our mashed potatoes or rice, playing with our peas, and generally frustrating our parents. But in the realm of playing with food, Japanese artist Mikyou has taken it into a real art form, transforming plates of sashimi (raw fish) into delicate and elaborate scenes.

The level of detail and elegance is amazing, and we’re more impressed that he’s had no formal training, just a love of plating, and inspiring his own son how to create beautiful plates.
